L'AMOUR EN HERBE

From his family's house to the suburban high school he attends, 16-year-old Marc Morel (Pascal Meynier) leads the regular and quiet life of a studious student. His orderly world is turned upside down when he meets Martine (Guilhaine Derbos), a 17-year-old supermarket saleswoman. This first love becomes more important than anything else. He neglects his studies, and his father (Michel Galabru) tries to put an end to this affair by intervening in a clumsy and authoritarian way. Martine, on the other hand, finds more understanding from her mother (Françoise Prévost) to whom she usually confides.

An excellent surprise .... A story of "first love", but the heart of the film is the conflict between the dreams and illusions of adolescence and the compromises and frustrations of middle age.
