THE TROJAN WAR WILL NOT TAKE PLACE
The plot of this two-act play is based on Greek mythology and Homer's epic, The Iliad. Paris, the Trojan prince, kidnapped Helen of Sparta, the legend says. This abduction would have been the cause, or pretext, for a ten-year war between the Greeks and the Trojans. Giraudoux situates the action of his drama just a few hours before the declaration of war.
